In the name of God and Ghana stop galamsey – Dr Omane Boamah begs illegal miners

Defence Minister Dr Omane Boamah has pleaded with persons involved in illegal mining to stop it.

In a post shared via social media, he used the name of God to beg the illegal miners to desist from actions that are destroying water bodies and forest reserves.

He counselled persons who are interested in mining to seek the necessary regulatory permits.

In a Facebook post, Dr Omane Boamah who in the past claimed that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government is to be blamed for illegal mining said “In The Name of God & Ghana Stop Galamsey! No human being resides in the forest reserves.

In the name of God and Ghana, stay away from the forest reserves and galamsey. A word to the wise is enough! Stop galamsey! If you’re interested in mining, seek the necessary regulatory permits. We’ll not talk much”.

Prior to the 2024 elections, Dr Omane Boamah, while addressing party faithful in Boadua in the Eastern Region, blamed the then government for being beneficiaries of illegal mining.

He alleged that executives, DCEs, among others of the previous government are the ones involved in illegal mining.

“We know that some people are roaming about saying a whole lot of stuff about illegal mining. The leaders of those same people, including the regional executives, ministers and DCEs have led the pollution of the Water bodies, due to that those who are responsibly mining are being dragged, and we will not allow them to cover up their irresponsible mining with the responsible ones for them to be dragged”.
