IIFA 2025: A Silver Jubilee Celebration of Cinematic Brilliance in Jaipur

The 25th-anniversary edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards marked an extraordinary milestone as it took place in the cultural heart of Rajasthan, Jaipur. This Silver Jubilee celebration, held on March 9th, 2025, was a grand tribute to Indian cinema, showcasing its immense global impact and the power of storytelling. Against the stunning backdrop of Jaipur’s regal heritage, the event captivated audiences with world-class performances, electrifying awards, and heartwarming tributes to Bollywood legends.

 

The night was hosted by the charismatic Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan, who elevated the atmosphere with their humor and charm. Bollywood icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon took the stage, giving unforgettable performances that lit up the IIFA Awards. Kareena Kapoor Khan, in a poignant tribute to her legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor, paid homage with an emotional dance to iconic tracks from his films, such as Mera Joota Hai Japani and Pyar Hua Ikraar Hua.

 

The prestigious NEXA IIFA Awards were the highlight of the evening, with a fierce competition for awards across categories including Best Picture, Best Direction, and Best Performances in both leading and supporting roles. This year’s ceremony also saw several special honors, such as Best Debut Female for Pratibha Ranta (Laapataa Ladies) and Best Debut Male for Lakshya Lalwani (Kill). Renowned filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was felicitated with the Outstanding Achievement in Indian Cinema award, celebrating his monumental contributions to the industry.

 

The evening was also an embodiment of Rajasthan’s vibrant culture and beauty. Ms. Diya Kumari, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, expressed her pride in hosting the IIFA Silver Jubilee Edition in Jaipur, emphasizing the significance of cultural exchange and the promotion of tourism in the region. The breathtaking sites of Jaipur, with its palaces, forts, and temples, provided the perfect backdrop for this spectacular celebration, merging Bollywood’s glamour with Rajasthan’s rich heritage.
