The girl was discovered by police on the second floor of the school after her parents reported her missing.
She had stab wounds to her neck and face, a local fire department official told Reuters.
The student was rushed to hospital “in an unconscious state” and tragically died a short time later.
The teacher also had stab wounds on her neck and arm with officials now investigating if they may have been self-inflicted, local media added.
She reportedly underwent surgery on her injuries and is due to be questioned by police when she regains her health.
As cops continue to look into the alleged fatal assault it has been revealed that the girl was at an after-school child care session.
She was also due to attend a private art class shortly before being targeted, local media reports.
Both the teacher and the girl were found by police at around 6pm.
Cops were first notified by the child’s parents who reported her missing from the art class.
Police found the teacher had taken a leave of absence due to depression and had only returned to the school late last year, reports the Yonhap news agency.
