‘I am so incredibly grateful’ says EMMY as she breaks silence on ‘amazing’ RTE Late Late Eurosong win

EMMY has broken her silence after winning the RTE Late Late Eurosong Contest.

Patrick Kielty hosted the Late Late Eurosong final last night where six acts battled it out to represent Ireland in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest this May in Switzerland.

The winner was chosen by a combination of national jury, international jury, and public vote.

This year Arthur Gourounlian returned to the national judging panel alongside celebrity chef Donal Skehan, Eurovision star Bambie Thug and 2FM host Laura Fox.

And Norwegian singer EMMY, who blew everyone away with her catchy song Laika Party, managed to win the contest with a whopping 34 points.

The 24-year-old took to her Instagram today to thank fans for the incredible support.

Alongside a series of snaps from last night’s Eurosong, EMMY wrote: “IRELAND, THANK YOU SO INCREDIBLY MUCH for believing in us!!!

We will do our best to make you proud. I am so INCREDIBLY grateful for the Eurosong experience and the amazing fellow contestants and the other people I got to know.

READY FOR TAKEOFF!!! #Eurovision2025.”

Fans and friends raced to the comments to share their love and support.

Olympian Jack Woolley said: “CONGRATS.”

Dane wrote: “I knew you were going to win. The best, by far! The only advice would be to have more confidence. Own that stage. That camera is yours. It’s your show. You have the talent!”

Stefan commented: “I told you. Now we’re on the winner’s podium. Eurovision 2025 is yours to take. You’re killing it!”

Alex said: “Congratulations EMMY. Can’t wait to see what you bring to the stage in Basel.”

Another added: “You are amazing Emmy and we are delighted you will represent our country at Eurovision in May. Looking forward to supporting you along the journey to Basel. All aboard the #laikaparty.”

During last night’s show, Arthur had said EMMY’s performance was the “performance of the night” and said it was his “guilty pleasure”, as himself and his fellow judges couldn’t stop singing the tune throughout the night.

EMMY looked ecstatic as she was crowned the winner and said: “I’m just in shock, thank you so, so much.

“I really hope I will make you proud, thank you guys.”

Adgy also took to the stage last night with his song Run Into the Night with his sister Jenny playing the fiddle.

Next up was Bobbi Arlo with her song Powerplay and she absolutely blew away viewers at home and was one of the favs with the judges.

Reylta with Fire was third up last night and while she gave the performance her all, sadly the judges didn’t think it was right for the Eurovision stage and got 18 points.

Samantha Mumba went next with her ballad My Way and while the judges really loved her, they weren’t a fan of her song.

NIYL with Growth came out on stage fourth and was definitely a huge hit with the judges but it sadly wasn’t enough and he got 18 points.
