Solo Leveling: Jeju Island Arc Could Have Avoided All Casualties With the Strongest Hunter on Board and It’s Not Sung Jinwoo

Spoiler Alert !!!
Spoilers from Solo Leveling manhwa

A-1 Pictures’ Solo Leveling anime series recently saw the conclusion of the Return of the Demon Castle arc, and the story is gearing up for the Jeju Island arc, which, as Manhwa fans might know, is one of the most significant arcs in the series. The arc not only introduces new characters and plots but it also leads to a huge amount of destruction.

In fact, the Jeju Island arc might see the death of a huge number of hunters against the monstrous ants, their queen, and their dangerously powerful king. The strength of the ants is reflected in the fact that they are even able to deal with some of the S-Rank Hunters in Solo Leveling and are even capable of killing some of them.

However, all of these upcoming casualties within the Solo Leveling storyline could have been easily avoided if the authorities had taken the help of one National Level Hunter who is on a completely different level. This Hunter is none other than Thomas Andre, the strongest hunter in America and the current strongest hunter introduced in the Solo Leveling anime series.

The unprecedented casualties of the Jeju Island arc in Solo Leveling

The Jeju Island arc is the thirteenth arc of the entire Solo Leveling storyline, and it contains a lot of significance as it combines the powers of the hunters from Japan and Korea against the colony of the dreadful ants who are on a killing spree. And while it certainly brings forward an intriguing plot, it also includes the death of some of the biggest S-Rank Hunters, especially from Japan.

From Korea’s side, the biggest casualty was that of Min Byung-Gyu, the Korean S-Rank Healer, but Japan lost its most important hunters in the form of Goto Ryuji, Mari Ishida, Ippei Izawa, etc. The death toll in the Jeju Island arc might be one of the highest within the Solo Leveling narrative.

This death toll affects the series in a major way, and while it may not be completely focused within the story, it does bring a big twist to the Solo Leveling narrative. Thus, the Jeju Island might be dark and bleak because of the huge death toll, but it doesn’t change the fact that its event set the tone for the other arcs of the series.

All the casualties of Jeju Island could have been avoided easily

Although the casualties of the Jeju Island are inevitable, they could have been avoided if the joint authorities of Japan and Korea had asked the help of Thomas Andre, one of the strongest S-Rank Hunters. Initially, Sung Jinwoo had disagreed to go on the mission as he wanted to spend time with his mother and his sister. Thus, the next best choice for them was Thomas Andre.

Andre is one of the five National level Hunters who was able to defeat the boss of the first S-Rank Gate in Solo Leveling. Not only that, he is a vessel of a Ruler and currently the strongest hunter in the anime series.

Plus, he was also present in Korea at the time of the Jeju Island discussion, which gave them the perfect opportunity to ask for his help.

With Andre on their side, not only would they have ended the entire raid mission in a few minutes, but he could have also saved so many people from dying. However, it would have shifted the Solo Leveling narrative in a completely different direction, and maybe Sung Jinwoo would not have been able to take control of Beru.

Solo Leveling is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
