AN urgent warning has been issued to thousands of Irish parents as popular children’s shoes are being recalled.
Gem Imports Limited is carrying out a recall of Hoot Girls Printed Flip Flops.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: “The risk presented by the product is chemical due to exposure to restricted phthalates over permitted limits.
“Exposure to phthalates can harm children’s health by potentially damaging their reproductive system.
“The brand is Hoot. The type/number of model is TOY5313/OB.
“The batch number is 12034. The barcode is 5056283853135.
“There are approximately 3,096 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.”
Customers are being urged to keep the product “out of reach of children”.
The alert adds: “Customers should stop using the product, keep it out of the reach of children and return the item to the point of purchase for a full refund.
“If you know someone else who has purchased this product, please ask them to stop using the product immediately and return it for a full refund.

Meanwhile, Søstrene Grene is recalling watercolours that might be in your child’s toy box.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said: “Søstrene Grene is carrying out a recall of Søstrene Grene Watercolours 12 pcs.
“The risk reported to the CCPC is a chemical risk.
“An elevated amount of lead has been found in the white colour, exceeding the established limit values, which poses a health risk upon skin contact or ingestion.
“The brand is Søstrene Grene. The batch number is 230866. The barcode is 5711812887851.
“There are approximately 408 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
“The affected model was sold from 29 May 2024 to 13 February 2025.”
Customers should stop using the product, keep it out of the reach of children and return the item to a Søstrene Grene store.
They added: “There is no need to bring a receipt.
“This also applies even if the product packaging has been removed and the batch number therefore is no longer visible
