One Piece: If Loki’s Theory Is True, Oda May Just Bring Big Mom Back to the Story One Last Time to Expose Elbaph’s Dark Side

The most significant character of the Elbaph arc in One Piece, Loki, is still a big mystery for the majority of fans. While he has had frequent appearances in the story, there are still a lot of things hidden about his character that will soon be unraveled by Eiichiro Oda as the story moves on. However, the biggest mystery about his character is still his connection to Big Mom.

As One Piece fans know, at some point in time, Loki fell in love with Big Mom’s 23rd daughter, Charlotte Lola, and they were supposed to get married. However, Lola ran away and broke Loki’s heart, and Big Mom’s only way to rectify her ties with Elbaph. It was recently discovered during the Elbaph arc that royal giants cannot marry outside of their race.

Thus, the marriage that was proposed between the two does not make sense at all. This has led to fans creating multiple One Piece theories about the plot, and one of those theories portrays the dark side of Elbaph. It also hints that Oda might bring Big Mom back to clear the situation, and it would not look good for Elbaph at all.

Loki’s love for Lola in One Piece

Although Loki’s character first appeared in the Elbaph arc, he was already introduced during the Whole Cake Island arc by Charlotte Chiffon. One Piece chapter 858 saw the discussion between Nami and Chiffon about her sister Lola and how she helped the Straw Hats during the Thriller Bark arc. During the discussion, Chiffon explained Lola’s reason for staying away from her.

She revealed that one day, out of nowhere, Lola got a surprise suitor in the form of Loki, the prince of Elbaph in One Piece. He claimed that it was love at first sight and wanted to marry her. Big Mom saw this as a chance to end her long feud with Elbaph and instantly agreed to their marriage. However, Lola was against this and thus decided to run away from Whole Cake Island.

This stressed out Big Mom so much that she tried to pass Chiffon as Lola, but the giants saw through the charade and ended all ties that were supposed to be built between the two factions. However, this does not change the fact that Loki was totally head over heels for Lola, despite the fact that she was the daughter of one of the most detested characters by Elbaph’s people.

One Piece theory hints Big Mom’s return

According to a One Piece theory by u/James44568 on Reddit, the giants agreeing to Loki’s marriage with Big Mom’s daughter might highlight the dark side of the mysterious island. It was revealed in One Piece chapter 1137 by Road that Giants did not allow for Hajrudin’s mother to marry King Harald because she was from a different Giant nation.

This raised the question that if giants did not allow the marriage of two giants from different nations, how would they have allowed Loki and Lola’s marriage? The theory states that the giants must have thought that once Loki marries Big Mom’s daughter, the accursed prince will become her problem, and she will have to deal with him.

This would not only free them from Loki’s notorious actions but also lead to Big Mom’s destruction. As it is a big topic of discussion, Eiichiro Oda is bound to bring it up sooner or later. And once it happens, Big Mom’s appearance will be inevitable, even if it is in the flashback. Thus, One Piece fans should get ready to see Big Mom once again in the story.
