If you’re a fan of Meghan Markle, then you know that the mom of two just released her lifestyle TV show, With Love, Meghan, on Netflix this week. And while the show will undoubtedly give a never-seen-before look into her life as a mom, host and cook, she’s also been more open than ever about her relationship with Harry.
Speaking of their connection in an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, which premieres on March 6, Markle revealed the sweet promise he made to her when they first started dating.
“I was a babysitter nanny for two Irish Catholic families when I was in college and one of the dads said to me, he’s like, ‘You know, Meghan, when you meet your person one day, I want him to say to you the same thing that I said to my wife when we got married, which is, I vowed to always date my wife,’” Markle remembered to Barrymore. “And I told H that when we started dating, he goes, ‘I vow to always date you.’”
Over time, Harry, who Markle calls by the nickname “H,” kept his promise. “So we have this connection I think because we’re so committed to treating each other the same way you did before you had a ring on it, before it was locked down,” she said. “When you’re just courting each other and you can see all the good and joy in that butterfly period and that’s I think what keeps things really alive.”
Also in the episode, she gushed about her husband of almost seven years. “I’m very lucky,” she said. “I am married to the funniest, sweetest, most charming, I mean, he’s all the things that you’re describing. He’s an amazing father.”
She continued, “I count my blessings because I have him and also I have a partner who is so supportive of me.”
Markle and Harry, who have been married since 2018, share kids Lilibet, 3, and Archie, 5.

Markle also opened up about their relationship ahead of her show release. Speaking to People for a cover story, she revealed that there’s even been a shift from Harry with her new project.
“My husband met me when I had The Tig, and I see this spark in his eye when he sees me doing the thing that I was doing when he first met me,” she said, referring to the lifestyle site she used to run before marrying Harry and joining the royal family.
“It’s almost like a honeymoon period again,” she added, “because it’s exactly how it was in the beginning when he’d watch me scribbling away, writing newsletters, fine-tuning edits and just really being in the details of it.”

“I think he loves watching as much as I love doing that creative process,” she said. “It’s just been fun. This is who I’ve always been.”
Markle’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show premieres tomorrow while With Love, Meghan is available now on Netflix. We’ll be tuning in to both!
