Netflix announced the adaptation in early 2023, but since then, the project has stalled. The creator of Game of War, Cliff Bleszinski, posted about how he would want Bautista to play the main character. So, with such strong support from everyone, the movie should have already been in production. But even if that were to happen now, there’s one problem that’s hard to ignore.

Now looking back at it, I probably overdid it. But at the time, I was just thinking, ‘I gotta get big, I gotta get big. And then I noticed, the more I trimmed down, the better I felt. And I also noticed the more I trimmed down, the better I looked on camera, the better I looked next to other actors.
Even though his weight loss is impressive, Marcus is a character with a huge build and muscle mass. Plus, Bautista now feels more comfortable at his current weight, and his 6’4 ft. height still makes him look bigger in comparison to almost every other actor. But is he willing to go through the process of gaining weight again for a role?
