Shoppers hail UK supermarket giant as huge Cadbury Easter eggs are slashed to £3.50 from £6

SHOPPERS have hailed a UK supermarket giant as huge Cadbury Easter eggs are slashed to £3.50 from £6.

The chocolate eggs are on sale for £6 but if you’re a Morrisons More Card member, you’ll be able to nab it for just £3.50.

A keen-eyed customer spotted the deal and shared a photo in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group.

The picture showed a Cadbury Mini Eggs Milk Chocolate Easter Egg 232g and a Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Easter Egg with Caramel Bar 245g.

Its caption reads: “Not sure if these have been posted yet, but £3.50 each with more card in Morrisons they did have quite a few others they are the bigger ones normally priced at £6.”

The Morrisons More Card is a loyalty scheme where customers earn points on almost everything they buy in-store and online, which can be converted into vouchers.

For every item purchased, shoppers receive five points.

Once they accumulate 5,000 points, they get a £5 voucher to spend at Morrisons.

Besides earning points, More Card holders also benefit from exclusive discounts and special offers.

Customers can sign up for a digital card via the app or website, or request a physical card.

Points are collected by scanning the card or app at checkout. 

Since the keen-eyed customer shared their savvy sighting to Facebook, hundreds of shoppers have taken to the comment section.


One person said: “Need a trip to Morrisons.”

Followed by a second: “I knew the larger size eggs would be next to go on offer. Thanks for sharing.”

Meanwhile a third said: “These are a good price.”

It comes after Morrisons slashed the price of yet another Easter Egg to just £2.50.

Similarly, the chocolate egg is on for sale for £4 but if you’re a Morrisons More Card member, you’ll be able to nab it for just £2.50.

The range includes dozens of varieties, from Cadbury‘s Twirl, Skittles, and Twix to Rolo, Smarties, Mars and Maltesers.

After a savvy saver spotted the deal and shared a photo in the Facebook group ‘Snack Reviews’, hundreds of shoppers rushed to comment on the bargain.

One person wrote “cheapest I’ve seen them so far”, while another wrote “looks like I’m off [to] Morrison”.

One commenter likened it to prices in Australia, writing “cheaper than Australia, like $6 bucks”, while others wrote “That’s good” and “need to get some”.

Others simply tagged friends and family in the post proving the popularity of the deal.

Easter Eggs can typically cost anywhere from £2 up to £20 for the luxury chocolate ranges.

Morrisons is currently running a huge clearance sale, with prices slashed to as low as £1.50 for items in the women’s clothing and baby clothing sections.
