As a seasoned shopper, I live by three rules of thumb: 1. Your biggest regret will always be, “I should’ve bought that’” 2. You can always (well, usually) take it back, and 3. If you love something, buy it in more than one (or every) color. I hold these rules very near and dear to my heart, especially the last one. It can be rare to come across an item you adore so much that you consider buying it twice, but when you do, it just makes sense. So when Coach dropped a new shade of their iconic Brooklyn totes, I knew I needed to add just one (or maybe two) more to my collection.
If you’re unsure of what the Brooklyn tote is, let me loop you in. Coach dropped the hobo-style purse towards the end of summer in 2024. It didn’t take long for it to blow up in the fashion scene once Bella Hadid stepped out wearing it on multiple occasions. With a long shoulder strap and a U-shaped opening, the Brooklyn tote has been on everyone’s list since, including this writer. The bag comes in two sizes — 28 and 39, with the latter being the larger option and most sought after.
Since the purse first launched closer to the autumn season, the original colorways were all perfect for fall, with hues of Black, Maple Brown, Ruby Red, and more. But now that we’re inching closer and closer to spring, Coach decided to drop the coveted bag in this season’s trendiest color. Coach Brooklyn 39 Shoulder Bag
The bag that stopped the world! The Brooklyn 39 is the “It” bag for working and fashion girls alike. Its extra-large capacity makes filling it to the brim so easy, and thanks to its hobo style, it still keeps its U-shape even when it’s packed full. I bought this bag in maple brown for Christmas last year, but now I think I have to add the Bluebell colorway to my collection for spring.

Banana Republic Factory Vegan Leather Slouch Tote
But if you’re not in the market to spend that much money right now, don’t fret! Banana Republic makes one of the best dupes of the Brooklyn tote and just came out with one in a similar shade for a fraction of the price. Their slouch tote is made with vegan leather and has an asymmetrical seam down the front.
