Golden Eagles Softball Team Secures Second Place and Playoff Spot with Stellar Season

Feather River College Athletics has announced that the Golden Eagles 2025 softball team achieved a commendable 22-14 record this season, securing second place in the Golden Valley Conference. Their performance earned them a spot in the California Community College Athletic Association Northern California regional playoffs as the No. 15 seed. Remarkably, six players were honored with all-conference accolades, while four players were recognized on the academic all-state team.

Freshman Faith Helmandollar from Queen Creek, Arizona, had an impressive season, being named the Golden Valley Conference player of the year. She also received all-state north and first team all-conference honors, finishing the season with a .421 batting average and driving in 33 RBIs.

Another standout, freshman pitcher Brittney Byram from Reno, had a stellar year, winning 17 games with a 2.00 earned run average and a 1.24 walks plus hits per inning pitched. Byram was selected for the all-northern team and earned first team all-conference recognition.

The Golden Eagles are looking forward to the 2026 season with two more returning freshmen, Lily Lee from Carson City, Nevada, and Mckynlee Gay from Quincy, who also received first team all-conference honors. Lee posted a .429 batting average with six home runs, while Gay recorded a .364 average with nine stolen bases.

Additionally, freshman shortstop Emma Robles from Delano and outfielder Mya Roberts from Markleeville earned second team all-conference honors. Four team members—Alexa Baumgartner, Braelyn Birkel, Mackenzie Bradley, and Jessica Callaway—were recognized for their academic excellence by earning academic all-state honors.
