David’s Instagram account saw him document his chemotherapy journey while continuing his cancer treatment after sharing how his cancer had returned in November.
Revealing that David had died on her Instagram page today, Scarlett shared a selection of images of herself with her late friend and penned a moving caption.
Among the pictures of herself with David, the pair could be seen enjoying themselves at places such as Winter Wonderland and Disneyland.
Scarlett shot to fame after joining Gogglebox in 2014, with her friendship with David predating her fame.
“My best friend Ivo. I’ve never felt grief before & I don’t know how to write this caption,” she emotionally began.
“I will love you always & I will feel eternally grateful for the decades of friendship we had,” Scarlett went on.
“I will always cherish these last few weeks and remember how I got to hold your hand & tell you how much I love you and tell you what you meant to me – oh and our 2am texting club.
“Every day you will be missed. You didn’t deserve any of this and I will forever hate cancer for what it’s done.
“We will always be there for Charlotte & baby Archie. Love you to the stars and back.”
Back in November, David shared a post about his cancer battle.
DAVID’S CANCER BATTLE
Recalling his cancer battle from the beginning, David penned on November 26: “I found a lump in my leg one evening which was the size of a golf ball and then got onto the Dr’s to find out what it could be.
“Unfortunately nobody was sure what it could be until the Newcastle hospitals got wind of it and diagnosed me with having a peripheral nerve sheath tumour in the leg.”
He went on to reveal how the lump “quickly got larger over time and then I was due to have my operation”.
“The operation took 12 hours to remove and then I lost blood so needed blood transfusions as well,” he detailed, adding: “I then had to recover in hospital after coming round with a lovely plate of fish and chips to eat.
“To be fair, it wasn’t all bad whilst I was in there, but it didn’t start off on the best foot!!”
David explained how he had a skin flap to replace the skin that was lost where the tumour was, and a skin graft donor on the other leg.
“Now the operation was success,” he recalled, “the road to recovery started, physio and plenty of dressing changes, and trying to keep myself entertained all day in hospital began!
“I was in hopsital for around 3 weeks before I was allowed to finally go home.”
He then shared some sad news, concluding the post by writing: “Unfortunately the cancer has since returned as I found another lump, so now I am about to start chemotherapy – wish me luck!”
DAVID’S WIFE AND SON
David got engaged to Charlotte in December 2023, with him sharing a sweet selfie at the time.
In March 2024, the couple then announced they were expecting their first child.
Archie David Iveson, the couple’s son, was born in September, with David sharing a sweet snap of him carrying his son out of the hospital complete with a caption that read: “Let’s get you home.”
