Judges Oti Mabuse, Ashley Banjo and Jayne Torvill all voted to save Anton, with Christopher Dean conceding he would have made the same decision too.
But fans were left furious at the result, ranting on social media that the sportsman had ‘messed up’ in his routine.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: “How can that happen with a stumble? Total fix.”
Another had said during his skate: “Ohhh Anton messed up there.”
