The exact amount of time Brits REALLY spend in the sack revealed – so how does your sex life compare?

A NEW study has revealed the average time Brits really spend in the sack – so, how does YOUR relationship match up?

After years of being seen as a taboo subject, researchers at Illicit Encounters have finally lifted the lid on thousands of people’s sex lives across the country – and turns out, quickies are getting even shorter.

Brits are most likely to get frisky between 8pm and 11pm, known as ‘the norm’[/caption]

The poll of 2,000 people uncovered that the length of time couples spend sleeping together varies depending on the specific time of day and place they are.

Unsurprisingly, Brits are most likely to get frisky between 8pm and 11pm, known as ”the norm”, and typical nookie will last just 5 minutes and 24 seconds.

Meanwhile the average bonk for the entire country is less than 5 minutes long – with the average romp taking a mere 4 minutes and 38 seconds.

The study also found that quickies had become even quicker in the last year, dropping to a shocking 120 seconds in 2024, compared to 150 seconds in 2023 –  which represents half a minute of passionate love making lost.

A decade ago, the average quickie lasted 180 seconds.

The two-minute romp usually take place between 10am and 3pm, the survey showed.

That compares with a longer 4mins 10secs of steamy passion during a morning lay-in before work from 6am to 10am.

Couples also like to have a cheeky lunchtime romp — usually between 12pm and 2.30pm — dedicating around 4mins 30secs of their break for bedroom antics.

Afternoon nookies — from 2.30pm to 5pm — stretch to 5mins 4secs.

Just as couples get home, the average romp from 5pm-7pm lasts 5m 10s and takes place in the bedroom, kitchen, or even bathroom.

The most common time for Brits to get frisky is between 8pm-11pm, with the pre-sleep romp lasting 5m 24s.

However, if you want to make the passionate love making last hat little longer, you may want to consider waiting until just after midnight.

Jessica Leoni, a sex and relationship guru at Illicit Encounters said the study showed that although quickies were in their very nature ”quick” – they were a vital spark in a relationship.

She said: ”It seems Brits like their romps like they like their tea – quick, satisfying, and at all hours of the day!

”While the ‘afternoon antics’ take the crown, the humble quickie is clearly standing the test of time – albeit getting even speedier.

”Perhaps we’re all just busier than ever, or maybe we’ve perfected the art of efficiency.

”Either way, whether it’s a pre-work perk-up or a lunchtime love-in, one thing’s for sure – Britain is definitely bonking around the clock!”

Favourite time of the week to get jiggy

Another recent study found it’s Saturday that’s the favourite day for people to have sex, with the majority enjoying a pre-sleep romp at 10.09pm, Daily Mail reported.

”It is the weekend evenings that seem to be the most popular time for people to feel at their most relaxed and ready to enjoy time with their partner,” said Marina Nicoli, Marketing Manager at Pour Moi.

The data revealed that Saturday is the favourite day for many people to get jiggy, with a staggering 43 per cent saying this is their preferred day for bedroom antics.

This was followed by Friday (22 per cent), Sunday (10 per cent), Thursday (six per cent), Wednesday (five per cent), Tuesday (four per cent), and Monday (two per cent).

Meanwhile, when it comes to the ideal time to bonk, late-night hours were found to dominate.

More than a third said they prefer to romp between 22:00 and 00:00, with 80 per cent agreeing that the ”sweet spot” is specifically 22:09.

The second most popular window of time for some action was between 20:00 and 22:00 (27 per cent).

The least sexy time proved to be the early hours of the morning, with only a mere four per cent choosing to engage in the activity between 06:00 and 08:00.
