Sutton Foster stripped down the glam for her 50th birthday and celebrated the milestone age by sharing a makeup-free selfie amid her romance with Hugh Jackman.
“Oh hey 50,” the Broadway actress captioned the Tuesday, March 19, Instagram post, one day after her birthday.
In the dreamy snapshot, Sutton smized for the camera while sharing the magical oceanside sunset behind her. The Younger star disabled comments on the post, leading stars like Ariana Grande to double-tap the photo.
Sutton’s skin looked vibrant and healthy in the makeup-free selfie, which wasn’t an out-of-the-ordinary look as she often rocks a fresh face.
“I really just drink a lot of water and I try to sleep. I just try to take care of my skin as much as I can and try not to be too crazy about it,” Sutton told Coveteur in 2018. “In my real life, I never wear makeup. I’m a fan of natural. I also think the idea of youth comes from within — a youthful, optimistic, positive outlook is my idea of youth. Seeing things as new for the first time and appreciating the little things.”
While it’s unclear how Sutton celebrated her 50th birthday with Hugh, 56, the couple have put their foot on the gas after confirming their relationship with a PDA-filled date night in January.
Fans speculated that the pair’s friendship turned romantic months prior, especially after Hugh and estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced their separation in September 2023. The former couple was married for 27 years and share adopted kids Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
The following month, Sutton filed for divorce from Ted Griffin after 10 years of marriage. They share one kid, daughter Emily, whom they adopted in 2017.
After Sutton and Hugh closed the chapters on their respective marriages, they “gave up a lot” to start their own relationship.
“Hugh and Sutton were both ready for changes in their lives,” an insider exclusively told Closer in a story published on January 22. “Unfortunately, sacrifices had to be made. They did give up a lot, but they feel that time will reveal that it was worth it.”
Days later, a second insider revealed that although Hugh pulled the plug on his marriage with Deb, the Wolverine star still wanted her to be a part of his life.
“Hugh very much wants to have Deb as a part of his life, not just for his sake but for his kids as well,” the second source explained.
The Four Weddings and a Funeral actor would ideally think of “family holidays [as] something he wants to continue with and that ultimately will mean Sutton has to be in the mix as well. It’s just a matter of Deb being comfortable with it.”
Meanwhile, a third source told Closer that Sutton and Hugh are house hunting. In the meantime, Hugh is making his home comfortable for his lady when she visits.
“She’s keeping her place for when she’s got her daughter, but the rest of the time she’s with Hugh,” insider No. 3 explained at the time. “They’re both so busy they have very little free time, so they want to maximize it by having a nice love nest to hide away in together. Hugh wants Sutton to feel at home. She has free reign to bring anything she wants over so that she’s comfortable.”
