Solo Leveling Doesn’t Do Justice to This S-Rank Hunter Who Helps Sung Jinwoo in Every Way He Can

The world of Chugong’s Solo Leveling is filled with a plethora of hunters who are constantly fighting the monsters that pop out of the gates. Among these hunters, the strongest one is given the S-Rank, but the protagonist of the series, Sung Jinwoo, transcends even them. This sometimes makes them look powerless and insignificant in front of dangerous villains.

However, that doesn’t mean that they are not useful or cannot offer their help to him. In fact, there is one S-Rank hunter who has not only helped Sung Jinwoo in any way he can, but he has also been the most supportive with every decision that Jinwoo has ever made in Solo Leveling.

This character is none other than Go Gunhee, the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association and one of the first S-Rank Hunters of Korea. Chairman Go might not have showcased his powers yet in the series, but he is one of the strongest hunters in history.

Go Gunhee is one of the strongest hunters in Solo Leveling

Go Gunhee was one of the first S-Rank Hunters introduced in Solo Leveling, but fans never really got to see the full extent of his powers. However, that doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the strongest hunters in the world, and was also one of the first S-Rank hunters in Korea who fought against some of the most dangerous monsters in Solo Leveling.

In fact, the Solo Leveling anime fans might not know this, but Go Gunhee is one of the vessels of the Rules, which in itself is an explanation of his powers. In his prime, there were hardly any hunters in Korea who could have matched his potential, and it was one of the main reasons why he was able to move past everyone and become the Chairman of the Korean Hunters Association.

Solo Leveling fans have been dying to see Go Gunhee in action, but even if he enters a battle now, fans won’t be able to see the full might of his power. The reason behind this is his old age, which has become a hindrance for him and thus limits his ability to unlock the full potential of his strength as an S-Rank Hunter in Solo Leveling.

Go Gunhee has been the biggest help to Sung Jinwoo

It won’t be a stretch to say that Go Gunhee is the most composed character in Solo Leveling despite having such great strength. This composure has helped him build a strong relationship with Sung Jinwoo that is filled with nothing but respect and admiration on both sides. He has helped Sung Jinwoo as the Chairman of the Korean Hunter Association in the best possible way and respected the decisions he has made in Solo Leveling.

Ideally, seeing a character like Sung Jinwoo growing so much in power would have put everyone around him in doubt, but Go Gunhee has made sure that the Solo Leveling protagonist feels comfortable around him. This shows that he is one of the best guiding characters in the history of anime, and the two characters share an interesting friendship.

One of the main criticisms that the Solo Leveling story received was that it didn’t do justice to Go Gunhee’s character. Maybe the anime should take this issue into consideration for the upcoming season and portray the Solo Leveling character in a better light than the Manhwa.

Solo Leveling is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
