My Hero Academia: Vigilantes has shown some really tenacious characters so far. Koichi himself has also shown plenty of development. Since the series began, he has progressed a lot both in terms of power and personality. Episode 9 of the series showed just how far he is ready to go in order to save the ones who are close to him.
Overall, it was a fun episode with some great interactions between characters. Koichi’s mom turned out to be quite a character, and her conversations with Makoto, Pop Step, and Knuckleduster gave fans great joy. However, there is one more character whose return cheered up fans the most.
Koichi’s best partner is neither Knuckleduster nor Pop Step

Koichi’s partnership with Pop Step and Knuckleduster has properly engaged fans in MHA: Vigilantes. The trio provides a more grounded perspective on hero work. None of the three is particularly strong, but they still do the necessary and go above and beyond whenever they are needed. The trio is beloved by fans due to the dynamics between them.
But no matter how much Koichi is attached to them, there is another character whom he has come to respect above all, and it’s Tensei Ida, or Ingenium. Tensei is the older brother of Tenya, the hero who was featured in the original My Hero Academia series. But in Vigilantes, Tensei is the one who is wooing fans.
The first time Koichi met Tensei was on a morning run. After an eventful introduction and Koichi almost not believing his own ears, Tensei was impressed by Koichi’s Quirk. In fact, he even offered him a place in his agency as his sidekick due to his mobility-type Quirk. Ever since their meeting, fans have been dying for the duo to meet again, and their wishes were fulfilled in episode 9 of the anime.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes episode 9 features another eventful meeting between Koichi and Ingenium

In episode 9 of Vigilantes, Koichi and Ingenium met again, but this time, the situation wasn’t nearly as lively as the first time they met. The bus that Koichi, his mother, and Makoto were on had been hijacked. That is when Ingenium comes to the rescue.
The passengers were slowly transferred to another vehicle with help from Team Idaten, Tensei, and Knuckleduster. However, Makoto was left inside when the vehicle lurched and headed away.
Ingenium was running low on juice, so Makoto volunteered to deliver it to him and even got on the bus to save Makoto. He followed orders from Ingenium and did everything possible to distract the cat-like bus. Koichi had complete faith in Ingenium’s ability to save them and jumped off the free-falling vehicle with Makoto.
The trusting relationship between Koichi and Ingenium is truly beautiful to watch. Koichi not only admires and idolizes Ingenium but is also ready to take a leap of faith for him. In fact, it is Ingenium who pushed him to achieve new heights with his powers. In a way, Ingenium is the best partner Koichi could ever find.
