Neowiz just dropped a bombshell by dropping the Lies of P Overture at the Summer Game Fest 2025, adding a prequel to its main Soulslike action role-playing title. After the announcement of this prequel earlier this year, several Soulslike lovers were waiting for it to pop up in their feed. Finally, the Korean company unveiled it, wanting us to dive more into the storyline.
By the looks of it, you can’t directly access the Lies of P Overture DLC after purchasing it on different platforms, such as PlayStation Store and Steam. One needs a little bit of groundwork to delve into the Carnival Gardens. Well, don’t worry! This guide will tell you a few straightforward steps to access the new DLC.
Steps to start the Lies of P Overture DLC
Firstly, you must complete Chapter 9, Krat Central Station, of the base game. Moreover, once you’re done with the chapter, you’ll be rewarded with an item named Star’s Chrysalis upon purchasing the new DLC. Those are two pivotal things to access your way into the next expansion. In case you’re stuck on the earlier chapters, you might try the newly introduced “Awakened Puppet” mode to explore the game with lighter challenges. Once you’re done with the chapter, you can now begin your journey to unveil more secrets about the city of Krat.
However, if you’ve already finished the previous title, you can simply load a file that was saved after chapter 9 and head over to a Stargazer. Navigate to the Malum District and reach out to the Path of the Pilgrim’s Stargazer. Once you’ve reached the Stargazer, a cutscene will begin. Later in the cutscene, a swarm of butterflies will pop out of the Star’s Chrysalis, making a trail on the ground towards the cathedral. Follow the trail, reach the end, and brace yourself for another cut scene.
Once the Mysterious Stargazer is activated with the Star’s Chrysalis, you’ll get a pop-up asking whether you want to activate it. You just have to press the OK button and gaze into the mysterious land to unveil more secrets about the city of Krat in the Lies of P Overture DLC.
What’s there to look forward to in the Lies of P Overture?
According to the PlayStation Blog, you can discover more secrets in this prequel expansion of the base game. Upon entering the Stargazer, you’ll be redirected to a mysterious snowy land. You must face new enemies in the land to navigate your way up to the Krat Zoo.
Gamers like me who have already tossed their controllers across the room multiple times while defeating Simon Manus, Awakened God, or the Nameless Puppet (optional boss) will undoubtedly face new challenges in this snowy land, which include different bosses, such as Markiona, Puppeteer of Death, Anguished Guardian of the Ruins, Lumacchio, Leader of the Ba**tards, and many more.
Meanwhile, you’ll get the opportunity to face the Stalkers in their more lucid state. You’ll learn more about the purpose of buzz saw-headed dog puppets for the Krat’s citizens. Let’s not unveil more; we’ll let you enjoy the whole DLC.
