THIS Morning’s stand-in host, Josie Gibson, 40, shared on her Instagram Story that she had to make an unexpected dash to the hospital.
She later hobbled into the studio after the show had already started. Here’s what went down.

What happened to Josie Gibson?
Josie Gibson shared on This Morning that she had an accident while on holiday in Dubai with her six-year-old son, Reggie.
Speaking to co-presenter Alison Hammond, she said: “I was brushing my teeth when the vanity unit came down on my foot.
“You couldn’t make it up!”
The doctors in Dubai diagnosed her with a leg fracture.
Josie added: “All I know is when I stand up and the blood rushes to it, the pain is excruciating.
“I spent the whole holiday in bed with my leg in the air, I was in a wheelchair, I couldn’t even build a sandcastle with my son”.
Wanting to make her feel at ease, Alison revealed that the This Morning team had a little surprise for her.
She rolled onto the set in a mobility scooter, all decked out with gold fringing, silver side panels, and a personalised ‘Gibson’ number plate.
Ahead of the show, Josie posted a snapshot of directions to the Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinics and a Trauma Assessment Unit.
Set to the tune of Mazzy Star’s Cry Cry, she captioned it with: “You couldn’t even make it up”.
Josie has previously opened up about her health struggles, including bouts of tonsillitis and sleep paralysis.
Josie made a name for herself after winning the 11th series of the Channel 4 reality show Big Brother.
She’s a regular segment presenter and announcer for This Morning, as well as a relief co-presenter from 2021.
In 2023, she took part in the 23rd season of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and made it all the way to fourth place.
Josie’s new travel show
News of her accident comes just ahead of the launch of her new show, Around the World in First Class, which is set to debut on Channel 5 on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 8pm.

The three-part series follows Josie as she experiences first-class travel across destinations like Grenada, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates.
In a teaser, she revealed: “More and more of us are splashing out on once-in-a-lifetime trips and the travel companies can’t wait to have us.
“But is it worth the added expense? And how do you bag yourself a bargain?”

According to The Mirror, she also said in a clip posted on social media: “Luckily, I’m ready to get out there and find out exactly what you get for your money.”
Talking about her new role, Josie admitted she initially thought the offer was a joke, saying: “When I got the call, I thought this cannot be real. I thought it was a wind-up.
“I think it took me less than a second to say yes.
“If somebody had told the younger me that one day this would be my life, I would never have been able to believe it in a million years.”
Josie added: “It is better than I ever could have dreamed of. I don’t even want to sugar coat it – I’m jealous of me.”
