Keanu Reeves has always kept stuff low-key, but when it comes to Sandra Bullock, our guy just can’t seem to hide his soft spot. After years of fans rooting for this duo, Reeves is back with an update that’s turning up the heat. He wasn’t kidding when he said he adored her this time – his actions are doing all the talking.
Whether it’s a reunion in the works or something a little more heart-fluttery, Reeves’ latest reveal’s sparked a fresh wave of buzz. Looks like the Reeves-Bullock saga might just be getting a brand-new chapter.
Keanu Reeves just made his Sandra Bullock comeback dream real

Keanu Reeves means it when he says he’s been waiting to reunite with Sandra Bullock. And now, it’s officially happening.
Reeves confirmed that after years of searching, he and Bullock are finally back on board together for a brand-new romantic thriller. Not a Speed 3, but something fresh, thanks to a pitch from their old Speed producer Mark Gordon and Jackie screenwriter Noah Oppenheim. The duo’s reunion is now in full pre-production at Amazon MGM Studios. Reeves told ET at the Ballerina premiere,
She and I had always wanted to work together, and one of the producers we had worked with in the past, Mark Gordon, kind of brought the idea to us. And so over the past couple of years, we’ve been trying to figure out what we could do.
That patience paid off, but wow, it took some serious time. Remember, it was 12 years between Speed and their last collaboration, The Lake House. This new project will likely clock nearly two decades since that dreamy mailbox romance. But clearly, good things take time, especially when Keanu and Sandra are involved.
There were murmurs about a Speed threequel during the film’s 30th anniversary last year, but honestly, this feels like a smarter play. After Speed 2 nosedived, who wants to go back to that wreckage? This new genre mix gives them a clean slate with built-in chemistry that audiences already adore.
While we wait, Bullock’s dusting off her broomstick for Practical Magic 2, and Reeves is diving into Aziz Ansari’s comedy, Good Fortune. But nothing’s generating buzz quite like this long-awaited reunion.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t take them another 20 years to do it again.
Keanu Reeves recalls chaos on the Speed bus set

At the Speed 30th anniversary screening, Keanu Reeves reunited with Sandra Bullock and director Jan de Bont, and dropped a behind-the-scenes moment that stunned fans.
Reeves recalled a chaotic day on set where the bus actually plowed into real cars during filming (via EW).
“Don’t you remember that day on the bus, though?” Reeves asked Bullock. He added,
When we were crashing through all the cars on the street. I remember we were a little under-informed. We were all on the bus and then we were driving down by San Diego or something. We were set by the ocean and all of a sudden, we’re actually hitting cars. Boom! Boom! Everyone on their bus lost their mind. People were screaming.
Bullock and the cast laughed, with director de Bont later praising the duo’s chemistry, saying it felt “absolutely perfect” even after all these years. The anniversary event wasn’t just a nostalgic celebration, it gave fans a peek into the real madness behind the blockbuster’s most intense scenes.
Watch Speed on Max & Prime Video. Ballerina has already hit the theatres in many countries on June 4, 2025, followed by the US on June 6, 2025.
