CM Punk’s Many Tattoos Has a Nod to Pepsi That Finally Gets Recognized by Soft Drinks Giant After Years

The world of WWE is a wide one, where superstars have rocked different and unique looks to suit their character, ranging from being a powerhouse to high-flying luchadors. Amidst different looks comes CM Punk, who is surely not a head-turner but would stand apart from the masses with his edgy personality and tattoos that cover his upper body.

The performer has all kinds of tattoos on his body, which include him paying homage to Bruce Lee, his state of mind, and the things he believes in. Interestingly, one tattoo beats the lot, the iconic Pepsi tattoo on his left shoulder, which has always got the fans talking.

Recently, the Second City Saint made his appearance on WWE Tattooed, finally answering why he permanently inked himself with the brand logo on his body.

CM Punk and the mystery of the Pepsi logo

There’s no denying that CM Punk’s body features some of the most diverse tattoos that hold different meanings. For starters, he got his wife’s lips inked for a very special reason, and then there’s a marshmallow on a stick. One thing’s for sure: he loves to flaunt his tattoos, and that’s why people always look up to him.

While each tattoo has its own unique story of origin, the real conversation starter has been the Pepsi tattoo, which has received the most attention from fans around the world.

Recently, Punk was present on WWE Tattooed, where he said that the inspiration stems back to the 80s and is a nod to the “straight edge” culture, and it involves Brian Baker. He said,

The story with the Pepsi tattoo is there is a band called Minor Threat that started in the early 80s in Washington, D.C. that’s widely known to have started the straight edge subculture, and the guitarist Brian Baker was asked in an interview I read while I was in detention, do you have a Coca-Cola tattoo?

Punk mentioned that the interviewer asked the guitarist about the importance of having a Coca-Cola tattoo, to which the answer was simple, “I like Coca-Cola.”

The answer left him impressed, and he retorted, saying that he prefers Pepsi to Coke, leading him to get a “corporate logo” on himself. He said,

I’m a Midwest kid at heart, so I got a Pepsi tattoo. That tattoo represents me being straight edge, and that’s really kind of it. I know it seems silly to put a corporate logo on yourself, but it really has a deeper meaning, and it means so much more to me than just soft drink.

World Wrestling Entertainment’s official social media handle (@WWE) shared the clip on X, which went viral, receiving over 600k views and 13k likes and counting, but one thing stood out: “Legendary,” Pepsi’s official social media handle, recognized the star’s love for their soft drink.

The WWE Universe loved CM Punk’s edgy personality

The Voice of the Voiceless’ answer shows how he ardently believes in the Straight Edge subculture and would follow the path of his idol. Of course, this was very much evident when he refused to be as sweet as a cookie, calling out every executive in his promos and delivering the infamous “Pipebomb” promo.

As a result, when he was honest about getting the logo on his left shoulder, the fans were charmed. However, some were surprised because he preferred to have Pepsi. The fans commented,

Nevertheless, fans will not be able to see the former WWE Champion participating tomorrow in the ladder match for the briefcase at Money in the Bank. After all, Rollins and company interfered in his qualifying match on RAW.

Money in the Bank will take place on June 7, 2025, streaming exclusively on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
