Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is in serious legal trouble, and now he’s reportedly hoping Donald Trump might save him with a presidential pardon. The music mogul is facing serious federal charges for s*x trafficking, racketeering, and other crimes that could land him in prison for life.
While Trump has a history of granting controversial pardons before, this particular request might hit a snag. Diddy’s previous public criticism of Trump could come back to haunt him—resurfacing at a particularly inopportune moment. Now, Diddy’s gamble for a pardon might be a long shot.
P Diddy’s old criticism could derail his plan for Donald Trump’s presidential pardon

Facing a potential legal downfall, Diddy is reportedly reaching out to Donald Trump. He’s someone known for decades in the entertainment world for his help. Trump recently pardoned reality TV stars Todd and Julie Christy, who were facing a series of federal charges. In Diddy’s case of presidential pardon, sources told RadarOnline,
Their relationship goes back decades, and they have met on several occasions, so Combs is writing directly to Trump to see if he can snag himself a case dismissal from the Oval Office.
But Combs’ public records indicate he may be out of luck. In 2020, during Trump’s re-election campaign, Combs launched a political movement to advocate for Black communities, and its top priority was to defeat Trump. In a widely circulated tweet, he wrote: “The NUMBER ONE priority was to get (Donald) Trump out of office. HE HAS TO GO.”
The tweet continued (via RadarOnline),
We can’t allow this man to continue to try and DIVIDE US. The people that have the most responsibility and should be SCARED TO DEATH of this man are white people. WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF A RACE WAR.
He didn’t stop there. In a separate video posted to social media, Combs hovered a pen over Trump’s name on an election ballot and said, “I’m definitely not voting this motherf***** right here.” He then gave a reluctant endorsement to Joe Biden, admitting he was really casting his vote for then-Vice Presidential nominee Kamal Harris.
Trump previously hinted at considering Combs’ pardon if he is convicted. Whether he would consider overlooking such slights is unclear. While some of Combs’ associates believe their decades-old relationship could prompt leniency, others aren’t sure.
Diddy’s rival, 50 Cent, reacted to Diddy’s Trump pardon

Trump, known for valuing his allies, may not be inclined to help someone who once painted him as a threat to democracy. That’s exactly the point of rapper 50 Cent, Combs’ longtime rival. He recently reposted Diddy’s anti-Trump messages to his massive social media following on Instagram, reminding Trump and the public of Combs’ past statements.
50 Cent has feuded with Diddy since 2006 when he released the diss track The Bomb and accused the mogul of being linked to the unsolved murder of Notorious B.I.G. He appears to be determined to block any avenue that comes in the way. The rapper even teased the development of a Netflix docuseries about Combs’ alleged history of abuse and corruption.
Though Trump has shown a willingness to pardon controversial figures, Combs’ previous statements make a pardon appear unlikely. If convicted, Combs will face life in prison on the allegation of orchestrating vast crimes that included s*x trafficking, pr*stitution, and drug distribution.
With the trial underway and damning testimonies stacking up, Combs may be looking for any lifeline he can find. But given what he’s said about Trump, betting on a pardon could prove to be a losing hand.
