Virgin Media customers warned of huge channel shake-up happening on all TV boxes today following recent closure

A NUMBER of channels have been moved on Virgin Media following the recent closure of a popular household name.

Eurosport ceased broadcasting in the UK last month, marking the end of 35 years on-air.

Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2’s content has merged with TNT Sports, though some free programming will continue on Quest.

Given the gap in the TV guide as a result, Virgin Media has reshuffled some channel numbers.

So to avoid confusion before the next big match or sporting event, you might want to familiarise yourself with the changes.

TNT Sports has taken up the slots previously filled by Eurosport, meanwhile some of the other TNT Sports channels have been moved up.

Sky has already shuffled the channels around on its devices.

On Virgin Media, TNT Sports 1 can now be found on channel 521.

Eurosport 2’s old home, channel 522, now belongs to TNT Sports 2.

And channel 523 – previously filled by Eurosport UHD – is now where you’ll find TNT Sports 3.

TNT Sports 4 fills the gap at channel 524 and finally TNT Sports Ultimate 4K UHD takes the 525 spot.

Fortunately, if you forget Virgin Media will show a warning on the old channel slots from 527 to 531.

The move comes days after the firm introduced two new channels to boxes at no extra cost.

For sports fans, this includes Red Bull TV where you can watch motorsport, biking, snowboarding, and more.

See the full list of Virgin Media channel changes below:

  • TNT Sports 1 – channel 521
  • TNT Sports 2 – channel 522
  • TNT Sports 3 – channel 523
  • TNT Sports 4 – channel 524
  • TNT Sports Ultimate 4K UHD – channel 525

This is just the start – more changes ahead

Broadcasting is going through an almighty shift at the moment with the push toward streaming at a key point.

Eurosport and TNT Sports owner Warner Bros Discovery is making some big changes next year.

And it’s likely Discovery+ will disappear as a result.

The streaming service has closed in several countries already to make way for a replacement, Max, bringing HBO and Discovery content under one roof.

The UK is one of the few big markets where Max hasn’t launched yet because of existing agreements with Sky, allowing Sky Atlantic to air big HBO-made hits like Game of Thrones and The White Lotus.

But the pair recently announced a new deal that will pave the way for Max’s launch in the UK early 2026 as a standalone app, while Sky customers will get access at no extra cost.

So expect even bigger changes in the TV and streaming world next year.
