John Cena is all set to make his final WrestleMania appearance. Since the OG wrestler is retiring at the end of the year, this is the fans’ final chance to see him step into the ring on the grandest stage of all. After decades of countless victories and unforgettable rivalries, John Cena is now preparing for his last WrestleMania showdown. He will be facing off against Cody Rhodes later this month but it seems as if his fate has already been decided by the Chief Content Officer of WWE, Paul Levesque aka Triple H.

If history is any indication, John Cena fans better get ready to see him lift the prize at WrestleMania 41 and add yet another win to his collection before his wrestling career comes to an end.
John Cena’s Royal Rumble loss predicts his WrestleMania win

As the CCO of WWE, Triple H is pretty much responsible for the storylines leading into WrestleMania 41. Thus, by connecting the dots, fans are convinced that he has probably spoiled the outcome of the upcoming event. How so? Let’s take a look.
The theory is, anytime John Cena plays a Royal Rumble match only to be crowned as the runner-up, he goes on to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. This is explained perfectly in this Instagram post by @theworldwrestlingunited:
As the post makes us take a trip down memory lane, the theory kind of checks out. Let’s break it down. After losing to Dave Bautista aka Batista at Royal Rumble 2005, Cena fought against John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) at WrestleMania 21 and came out as the winner.
Then in 2010, at the 23rd annual Royal Rumble, Cena was defeated by Edge during the 30-man match. Come WrestleMania XXVI, the Peacemaker actor won the championship over Batista. Is history going to repeat itself once again?
John Cena loses Royal Rumble 2025

This year’s Royal Rumble, which took place on February 01, was highly anticipated amongst the fans as it marked Cena’s last run at the event. Unfortunately for them, Jey Uso won the battle by defeating Cena at the 30-man match to become the last man standing.
By doing so, he secured himself a shot at the world title at WrestleMania 41. On the other hand, Cena was looking forward to winning the spot for himself. He is currently tied with Ric Flair for the most world title reigns of all time, 16. By winning Royal Rumble, he would’ve gotten the chance to turn 16 into 17, thus ending his career with another high before his retirement.
Cena, who has now turned heel, then went on to compete in Elimination Chamber: Toronto for one last chance. Thankfully, he won the match and his dream of becoming a 17-time world champion continues to live on.
If the above-mentioned theory turns out to be true, it looks like Cody Rhodes needs to watch his back – Cena is going in for the win!
WrestleMania 41 will take place on April 19 and 20 and will be livestreamed on Peacock.
