“They’ll say the passing remarks…”: Jennifer Lopez’s Co-star Claims He Was Sexualized on Set of Her $52.4 Million Erotic Thriller

Jennifer Lopez’s $52.4 million erotic thriller was designed to turn heads, but one of her co-stars claimed the attention went too far. He recalled feeling sexualized on set, treated as more of an object than an actor. While the film leaned into steamy storytelling, the atmosphere behind the scenes blurred boundaries in ways he hadn’t expected.

Passing remarks and offhand comments made it clear: his presence wasn’t just about performance; it was about perception.

Ryan Guzman got real about a side of Hollywood that rarely gets attention – men being sexualized on set. About five days ago, during a candid chat on the Zach Sang Show, Guzman admitted that discussing sexualization felt like a strange and uncomfortable topic for men.

Guzman, who starred opposite Jennifer Lopez in the 52.4M erotic thriller, The Boy Next Door, didn’t point fingers at her but made it clear that he had dealt with inappropriate comments throughout his career. He shared, explaining that while some might have brushed it off, the impact lingered:

It’s a weird thing to talk about as a man because, you know, a lot of people – you get eye rolls and, like, you know, you’re a dude… you must like it.

Guzman continued,

It’s… I’ve—not just The Boy Next Door—on plenty of sets, you know. They’ll say the passing remarks or something, and, um, even to this day, you know. But you kind of just roll with it, and if you want to give it weight, it’ll take you down. I just kind of take it like, ‘All right, that’s your perspective. And thank you for finding me attractive. Great.’ So I try to take the good from it. Yeah.

The 37-year-old recalled the industry’s double standards, referencing how Justin Bieber had been openly swooned over as a young star. Guzman questioned why that kind of behavior was tolerated, pointing out that male actors rarely had their concerns taken seriously. He noted that people often dismissed it, treating it as if being attractive wasn’t something to complain about.

Despite the challenges, Guzman had learned how to handle it. When asked by the host if he goes blind and numb to the bad, he said,

I… I don’t become blind and numb. I used to when I was younger. Now, I become aware, and I kind of, I guess, in the back of my head, just think, ‘Okay, now you’ve shown me who you are, what you are, and your intention.’ And I don’t have to play into it…

And I can redirect the energy somewhere else so I don’t have to live in that kind of energy. Um, but thank you for sharing the information with me and allowing me to see what’s going on in your fantasies.

With Hollywood increasingly tackling issues of on-set misconduct, Ryan Guzman’s perspective added another layer to the conversation. As he put it, “We should all be respectful, to be honest, at the end of the day.”

9-1-1 fans, brace yourselves – Ryan Guzman’s Eddie might actually be packing his bags for Texas. Showrunner Tim Minear confirmed that the firefighter has put a down payment on a house, planning to fix it up and reconnect with his son. Minear told Entertainment Weekly:

Eddie has put a down payment on a house. He’s moving there to fix it up and reconnect with his son. So depending on how that goes…. I mean, we’re sort of cheering for him to repair things with his kid, but it is sad to see him go.

And no one’s taking the news harder than Buck (Oliver Stark). Thursday’s 9-1-1 winter premiere saw him spiraling, projecting his feelings onto a newly adopted puppy.

While the rest of the 118 understands Eddie’s decision, Buck? Not so much. He’s sad, panicking, and maybe even picking a fight just to make the goodbye sting a little less.

The Boy Next Door is available to watch on Amazon Prime & Apple TV.
