The Member of Parliament for Walewale, Hon. Abdul Kabiru Tiah Mahama has alleged that the government is attempting to manufacture false claims in a scheme designed to siphon public funds through the 2025 budget.
In a post on Facebook, he claimed that over GH₵49 billion in unverifiable claims had been inserted into the budget, warning that such actions resemble past financial scandals.
“The government’s plan to manufacture nonexistent claims on government in a create, loot and share scheme in the 2025 budget has been uncovered,” he stated.
“An amount of GH₵49bn plus has been created as claims on the government that is neither verified nor in the GIFMIS. This is similar to what the NDC government did in the case of Woyome.”
Dr Kabiru emphasized that as a responsible opposition, they would rigorously scrutinize every aspect of the budget to protect the interests of Ghanaians.
“As a responsible opposition, every single line shall be vetted to ensuring that the Ghanaian is not shortchanged,” he affirmed.
He concluded his statement with a direct call to the government, urging them to refrain from engaging in financial malpractice.
“Start well, abandon the scheme!” he warned.
