The club’s only hope of silverware this season is in the Europa League – which could sneak them into the Champions League for next season.

Keane, 53, has hit out at the club’s shocking performances in the league.

He has even claimed that players could be starting to doubt manager Ruben Amorim due to the number of losses he has racked up.

The former Man United captain made his feelings clear on Sky Sports as he suggested the club could still sink lower.

He said: “We always talk about giving managers time, but you can’t keep losing football matches either.

“And I can say that for most clubs, if you’re losing week in week out, there will be doubts in the dressing room.

“Players will be looking at the manager and thinking ‘What are you bringing to the party?’.

“And when there’s been literally no reaction after coming into the club, well that’s a bit worrying.

“The standards of the club have been dropping for a number of years, and have they reached rock bottom?

“Maybe there’s a bit to go yet…”

Amorim has even admitted that the team is “scarred” and that is affecting their ability on the pitch.

He told Sky Sports: “To tell you the truth, I feel sometimes there are scars in our team, in our players.

“They are good players, but they (scars) are so deep, they are so long here that it is hard to change things in one moment.”

Keane was not done with his criticism of Man United.

He added: “There are huge struggles on and off the pitch.

“Win as many games as they can. It has been well documented, the problems.

“There has been no real reaction to the new manager coming in.

“There have been a few injuries, they don’t look like there are many goals in them, they don’t look good at set-pieces, not every dynamic.

“Still not convinced with the goalkeeper, we talk about this every time we focus on Man United.

“They have to try and get some belief and confidence back into the group.”

Fans have had enough of the club’s ownership with over 5,000 protesting them before the clash against Arsenal.

The supporters marched from the Tollgate Pub and marched to Old Trafford before the game kicked off.
