If there’s one thing we know about social media, it’s that people love to hate on moms. Hiding behind their screens, they will write bitter vitriol, attacking women for the way they parent, what they wear, how they spend their time, their kids’ behaviors, and on and on (and on!). In the words of Mother Taylor Swift, “You need to calm down.” That’s exactly what we’re thinking about the majority of comments on Paris Hilton’s recent video of her daughter London, 15 months, who she shares with husband Carter Reum. Mom-shamers were out in full force after Hilton caught her daughter going through her designer purses, and The Simple Life alum slammed everyone who sent her hate.
It started with a cute video Hilton posted of the moment she discovered her daughter in her closet. “Hi Princess! Are you getting into my purses?” Hilton asks London in a video on TikTok, as she rounds the corner to see her daughter playing with purses that she pulled off her mom’s cool pink rotating shelf.

Instead of getting upset, she knelt down (in her lacey dress and heels) to show the purses to her toddler. “Is this your favorite?” she asks, showing different options to London. Hilton also showed London some of her new purse designs, as London just gazes at the accessories in awe. She shows London a purse with leopard print, a sparkly purse, and more, asking what her daughter thinks of it in the sweetest video.
Hilton even told her daughter that she is “going to have your own purse line soon” called the London Hilton Line. We can’t wait!
“London’s breaking into my purse collection already 😂” the “Stars Are Blind” singer captioned the video. “Love getting her opinions on my latest designs for my handbag collection 💅🏻👛”
Despite the cute bonding moment between mother and daughter, trolls couldn’t let Hilton have a moment of peace in the comments. In particular, they accused London of not knowing her mom. “Why do I feel like there is absolutely NO relationship between them?” one person rudely wrote.
“Is that her daughter? Cuz she acts like she doesn’t know her,” someone else wrote. Another rudely said, “She doesn’t know who the hell u are…”
“Makes me so sad..I thought Paris would be a fab mom but her daughter looks as if she doesn’t even know her…” another person wrote. Um, rude! I didn’t get that vibe from watching the video at all, it’s clearly a cute interaction between a mom and her baby girl bonding over purses, and I don’t understand why people are so rude.
Luckily, there is still some hope for humanity. Many people defended Hilton and London in the comments. “I think the kids in general are really shy,” one person wrote, referring to London and Hilton’s 2-year-old son Phoenix, both of whom she shares with husband Carter Reum. “It took Phoenix a long time to open up and maybe her daughter is the same, it’s not good to assume the worst about people. 🥰🥰🥰”
“Hate all the negative comments… young children developing language need the constant input she’s giving to learn what convos look like. Doing great mama!” another commented. Hilton responded, “Seriously, she is one year old, she is just learning to talk. Some people are just hateful individuals🥺” So true!
Someone else wrote, “Some of you need to see other videos, these are Paris Hiltons children and they adore their mother! so please stop with the negative comments!” In a response to this comment, Hklton slammed all the haters.
“So hurtful🥺,” she wrote. “My babies are my world and I am with them every single day and bring them around the world with me when I have to work.” You tell them, mama!

Others specifically praised how Hilton handled the classic toddler situation. “I always got yelled at for getting into things when I was little🥺,” one person said. “I can’t tell you how refreshing and healing this was to watch. 🥰” Someone else commented, “💕 what a great momma not to be upset with her, instead you embraced her curiosity 💕 now london needs a purse room 🤭” We couldn’t agree more.
This isn’t Hilton’s first go-around with mom-shamers. In June, she shared how she doesn’t let it get to her. “I’m a new mom, we’re all learning as we go. But I have, you know, the world watching,” Hilton told Us Weekly. “If people are coming from a good, kind place and they’re telling me advice, like, I’m just learning as I go and I’m grateful for when there are mothers who are coming and just giving me advice and being so supportive.”
“Of course there’s always going to be the trolls who are going to say things,” she added. “I don’t pay attention to those people. But I’m grateful to all the other moms out there because being a mom is a lot, but there’s nothing like it. I’m so grateful for Carter and this beautiful family that we are building together. It’s really special.”
Such a good attitude to have!
