The Valley star Jax Taylor opened up about his past cocaine addiction, revealing that he’s 83 days sober. During the latest episode of the “Hot Mic” podcast, Taylor, 45, admitted that it was “hard to say out loud” that he’s struggled with “substance issues” throughout his life. “I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I’m 45. There [were] times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I’d go heavy on it,” he explained. Taylor, who first appeared on Bravo on Vanderpump Rules, hinted that fans “could kind of tell that I was on something” while watching the reality show, but he claimed producers were unaware. He further revealed that his current sobriety streak is the “longest I’ve ever gone in my life without either” cocaine or alcohol, two things he said “go hand in hand” in his experience. Taylor’s revelation comes one year after his split from Brittany Cartwright, with whom he welcomed son Cruz in 2021. Taylor previously completed a 30-day mental health treatment program last summer.
