Massive Hint That ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Have a Season 3 After a Confirmed Season 2

With fans gearing up to tune in to the continuation of one of the most revered superhero shows, which was originally intended to be a soft reboot, the speculations regarding follow-up seasons have already begun. Considering the MCU has already rolled the ball on Daredevil: Born Again season 2, many are left wondering whether its story will continue past the initial seasons.

Although much of it will hinge upon the show’s reception, per the showrunner’s comments, a third season seems very likely.

Unlike most post-Endgame MCU shows, whose cinematic approach to the medium wasn’t received greatly among fans, Born Again, which was originally intended for an 18-episode season, is taking things back to basics. Not only is the show following a more traditional approach to the small screen, it was reported that the planned 18-episode structure would be split into two.

Ahead of the show’s premiere, Dario Scardapane, the showrunner of Born Again, confirmed that production on the planned season 2 had already commenced. While he didn’t outright confirm the rumors about a potential season 3, Scardapane did hint toward the story’s continuation past season 2 (via Collider).

We start shooting an eight-episode second season on Friday, and the future is unwritten. I don’t know if the story necessarily ends at the end of the second season. I think the future’s unwritten

Even though the MCU isn’t exactly notable for long-term storytelling through the medium of TV, with Daredevil: Born Again, it certainly seems they’re changing things for the better.

Prior to Scardapane’s comments on the potential lifespan of Born Again, Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum entertained the idea of turning to “comfort viewing reliability” by betting on multiple seasons for a TV show. Despite not being certain about “how many seasons it’ll run” (via EW), Winderbaum confirmed the show was going to be multi-season, which does elevate the possibility of a potential season 3.

As for Charlie Cox, while his current commitment to the MCU only stretches for the first two seasons of the show, he is definitely keen on continuing Matt Murdock’s story past season 2 (via Deadline).

I have no knowledge of any other commitments at all. It definitely feels like Matt Murdock is in that [Marvel] world more but it would be cool for that journey to continue.

For now, the future for Marvel television is looking pretty promising, and if the show does succeed in replicating the quality of its Netflix predecessor, more seasons would be almost inevitable.

Daredevil: Born Again premieres on Disney+ on 4 March 2025.
