Margaret Qualley has solidified her status as a talented and brilliant actress in Hollywood. One of the rising stars of her generation, she first gained recognition for her role in HBO’s The Leftovers. Since then, the actress has appeared in several TV shows and movies and recently shocked viewers with her daring portrayal in the Oscar-nominated The Substance.

While the actress has established herself as an actress worthy of the rave reviews she has been receiving, not many know of her ‘nepo baby’ tag. Margaret Qualley is actually the second daughter and the youngest child of American actress Andy MacDowell.
Margaret Qualley is a nepo baby!

While Margaret Qualley has been sending shockwaves in Hollywood with her acting talent, many of her fans do not know that she is the daughter of the brilliant actress and model, Andy MacDowell, and her ex-husband, model-turned-rancher Paul Qualley.
MacDowell is one of the most popular actresses of her time, known best for movies like Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Muse, and more. MacDowell even shared the screen with her daughter in the Netflix miniseries Maid, starring as her on-screen mother. Having debuted in 2013’s Palo Alto, coincidentally, it was Maid that brought her extreme critical acclaim and brought her into the limelight.
Just like her mother, Qualley first ventured forth in the land of modelling and did various campaigns for fashion brands like Valentino and Chanel. As for her acting debut, the actress only landed her role in Palo Alto because she was visiting her then-boyfriend, Nat Wolff, on set (via Vs. Magazine) and not because of her mother, as some might think.
Even though some people might hail The Substance star as a nepo baby and allege her career success is due to her famous mother, Margaret Qualley’s acting talent is enough to prove that she deserves to be where she is today.
Margaret Qualley has no problem with the Nepo Baby tag

Celebrities often face backlash and hate for having famous parents or relatives, and some even face the risk of their careers getting derailed as a result of fan reactions. However, actress Margaret Qualley has no qualms about the infamous Nepo baby tag but rather owns it bravely.’
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, when host Josh Horowitz referred to her as a ‘second-generation actress,’ she promptly replied,
That’s a nice way of putting it! You can call me a nepo baby.
On the other hand, her mother, Andy MacDowell, during an appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, revealed she has been facing ‘reverse nepotism’ because of her famous daughter, Margaret Qualley, and her son-in-law, Jack Antonoff. Also revealing that her work has reached a new generation thanks to her youngest daughter, MacDowell remarked that she feels it’s like a double whammy.
Well, whammy or not, there is no denying that despite her famous mother, Margaret Qualley has made her way in the world of acting and Andy MacDowell is super proud of her daughter!
