On Lumon’s ominous testing floor, she still has her Outie memories, meaning she remembers her life, her struggles, and most importantly, her marriage to Mark. So no, she wasn’t resurrected from the dead. Lumon might have faked her death and kidnapped her. But why her?
In the testing floor, Gemma is constantly monitored, has her blood drawn, and is asked bizarre psychological questions. She’s being forced into a cycle of endless, unpleasant scenarios, like dental work, airplane turbulence, even the mind-numbing task of writing Christmas thank-you notes.
The goal of all this madness? Lumon might be perfecting a way to sever people into multiple Innies, each one designed to take on a different burden in life. But knowing Lumon, they wouldn’t stop there, fans are convinced something even bigger is definitely cooking for sure!

The idea? Gemma isn’t just a test subject, she might be part of a grand (and super unsettling) Lumon experiment to preserve and revive the Eagan family women. Fans even noticed that her outfits and wigs bear a striking resemblance to those of past female Eagans. Coincidence? Maybe. But it’s definitely weird.
Of course, when you take a really close look, the details don’t quite match up perfectly. Myrtle Eagan rocks a long-sleeved jacket with a wide lapel, while Gemma wears a sleeveless dress with a collar. No hat either, which seems like a missed opportunity if they were going for a perfect copy.
