Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner make amicable co-parenting look easy. The exes teamed up for their son Samuel’s 13th birthday, and photos from the event proved they are the coolest co-parents ever!
The newly-minted teenager celebrated his birthday at a paintball park in Los Angeles in Sunday, where his parents joined him in tactical gear for a round of paint-balling. The Argo star wore jeans and a green button-down shirt with a jacket and boots, and the 13 Going on 30 star was dressed in baggy jeans and a navy sweatshirt, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail. In photos obtained by Page Six, the exes were chatting comfortably and smiling as they hung out and got ready for the game.
According to the outlet, the exes hid together behind a structure and fired off paintballs during the game. At one point, Affleck even burst out laughing, clearly having a great time.
Affleck and Garner separated in 2015 after 10 years of marriage and also share kids Violet, 19, and Seraphina, 16. The Oscar winner married Jennifer Lopez in 2022 and called it quits two years later.
Lately, Affleck has seemed in good spirits, even being photographed without his signature scowl. Like last week, when he was uncharacteristically gleeful hanging out with Samuel at a basketball game. He was photographed smiling and chatting with his youngest child while watching the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Part of the reason Affleck is so happy could be because he’s getting along so well with Garner and his kids right now. Sources recently told PEOPLE that the exes are “on great terms.” The insider continued, “Jen’s very happy with Ben. He spends a lot of time with the kids.”
“They get along great,” another source said of Affleck and Garner. “She makes him laugh like no one else can. She seems happy that Ben’s happy.”
Even though they aren’t together anymore, Affleck and Garner continue to put their kids first, and it’s truly a joy to see.
