Kai Cenat Makes the Dumbest Comment in His Batsuit During Arkham Marathon Disrespecting the Biggest YouTuber Before MrBeast

Twitch superstar Kai Cenat recently had another marathon, and this time it was the Batman Arkham trilogy. While we had fun with a lot of it, things took an unexpected turn when the Twitch star made a comment about YouTube legend Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg. Cenat outright called out fans of the Swedish YouTuber saying he didn’t know why people watched him.

As you’d expect, many fans are accusing Cenat of disrespecting one of YouTube’s biggest pioneers. Given the YouTube legend’s impact on gaming content and online culture, it really feels like an out-of-touch comment. Because if you look at it, it’s very likely that Pewds influenced most of the trends we see online today.

During his Arkham Origins playthrough, Kai expressed his confusion about PewDiePie’s success, stating, “This may be an L take, and I apologize in advance, but I couldn’t see how n**as got into PewDiePie, I’m sorry… I’ll be honest, that might be an L take though.” His guest, fellow streamer Lil Rodney son, agreed, saying he never followed the YouTuber either.

Reggie also pointed out that not every creator is meant for everyone, reminding Cenat that some viewers might feel the same way about him. Many fans were quick to call out Kai’s ignorance, reminding him that Pewds probably influenced him too. One fan commented, “without Pewdiepie there wouldn’t even be a Kai Cenat lmaooooo he pioneered gaming content before Pewds it was all beauty and lifestyle vlogs.”

PewDiePie was the most-subscribed individual YouTuber from 2013 to 2019. And whether you like it or not, he was a big influence and shaped most of the content we see even today on the platform. One commenter even compared Cenat’s statement to not knowing Michael Jordan’s impact on basketball.

But it’s clear that there is a generational divide in how different audiences perceive online content creators. It’s really no one’s fault but we shouldn’t be too quick to judge others without knowing at least some context to the full situation. Maybe, Cenat simply wasn’t part of the peak YouTube era. And that’s alright.

Both Cenat and Pewds have been at the top of Twitch and YouTube

PewDiePie’s rise to fame wasn’t just about gaming. His ability to engage audiences, adapt content trends, and push boundaries played a big role in YouTube’s evolution. He was the first individual creator to surpass 100 million subscribers and maintained his position as YouTube’s top creator for nearly a decade.

Cenat’s streaming career has skyrocketed over the past few years and he is currently the biggest streamer on Twitch. His content style of marathon gaming sessions, celebrity interviews, and high-energy antics has been a hit and we don’t think it’s going to slow down anytime soon. Even the Arkham series marathon has been hit so far.

As of now, PewDiePie has not responded to Cenat’s comments. That’s because he has been largely absent from YouTube after semi-retiring to focus on family life in Japan. Although he still uploads occasionally, he has become one of the few content creators who have managed to stay real and get a happily ever after.
