Bindi Irwin’s 3-year-old daughter Grace Warrior is taking a break from animal care to learn another crucial Australian skill — and her uncle Robert Irwin is teaching it to her! The I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! host shared a new picture in the middle of a very Aussie lesson with his niece, and it’s the cutest thing ever.
“A glimpse into the camera roll…” Robert captioned a post on Instagram. These candid moments include many glimpses of wildlife, of course (the Irwins do live in the Australia Zoo!). But in between feeding crocodiles, watching elephants eat lunch, and rescuing wild pigs on the side of the road, Robert spends time with his niece Grace. In one picture, he teaches her the art of waxing a surfboard before catching waves.
In the sweet snap, Robert holds his board steady on a patio chair and table. Grace holds a piece of surf wax in one hand as she glides it on the white board. She looks adorable as always in a bright blue dress dotted with yellow sunflowers. Minnie Mouse ears are on her head and a Mickey Mouse plush toy lies next to her on the table. Grace’s mouth is open as if she’s in the middle of telling her uncle something and Robert just smiles at the little girl in rapt fascination of whatever she’s saying. It’s such a cute moment into their lives!
Another sweet moment happened over the holidays. In the picture, Grace stands in front of a Christmas tree wearing a cute pink dress. She looks sassy with her hands on her hips as Robert smiles with Grace’s tiny pink sunglasses on his face for the selfie.
Robert and Grace have the sweetest relationship. Last month, the wildlife conservationist shared adorable pictures of him hanging out with Grace and giving her a piggy back ride, with her in a pink sparkly dress and Minnie Mouse ears. “The adventures of Uncle Robert and Grace (…AKA Minnie Mouse! 😂)” he captioned the cute clip.
In an interview with E! News in May, Bindi shared how much her daughter reminds her of her dad, the late Steve Irwin. “I see so much of Dad in our beautiful daughter Grace,” she said. “She has so much fiery, passionate energy about her. She just is a determined woman and she never stops moving. I mean, she’s 3 so she is a very busy girl.”
“When you’re with Grace, you really do see everything in a different light,” Robert added in the interview. “Everything is magic, Everything is special. Everything’s just a big spectacle. And it makes you really value what’s so important in life.”
