Laurence Fishburne has long been one of the finest actors in the entertainment industry and his onscreen performances speak volumes about his unparalleled acting chops. From The Matrix film series to masterpieces like Apocalypse Now, the 63-year-old actor has earned tremendous critically acclaimed credits to his name.
But while his onscreen life has been fairly commendable, Fishburne’s life offscreen hasn’t been all that easy, especially that of some of his family members. For one, the actor’s daughter, Montana Fishburne didn’t have an easy life after quitting the p*rn industry, having been one of the famous names in the said industry years ago.
Post-p*rn life wasn’t easy for Laurence Fishburne’s daughter
On the one hand, while Laurence Fishburne earned fame for his outstanding performances onscreen, his daughter Montana Fishburne chose to establish herself as a standalone celebrity by joining the adult film industry. But while she garnered controversies for the same, the younger Fishburne’s life wasn’t easy even after realizing she no longer wanted to continue as a p*rn star.
Back in 2017, she was arrested in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for driving under the influence (DUI). Per the New Zealand Herald, Montana allegedly rear-ended a Range Rover with her white Toyota Corolla, which suffered extensive damage in the collision though she was not injured. However, she was found to be “incoherent” while walking around the scene of the accident.
If that wasn’t enough, the former adult movie star allegedly even urinated on the shoulder of the interstate, as per what the official reports read. All of these allegations had her being charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with property damage, and driving under the influence with blood alcohol readings above .15 by the police.
The official reports of this incident noted, “I noticed an open bottle of wine on the real left floor, and the two front seats were splashed with a purple liquid with a strong odor of alcohol. (sic)” The report added, “Subject (Fishburne) was moving around constantly and was making incoherent statements such as her driver’s license being different if I was to arrest her. (sic)“
The Matrix actor’s daughter also reportedly failed a series of sobriety tests and consequently ended up spending the night in jail at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Not to mention the minimum of a three-year sentence in a state prison in relation to the three charges that she also faced. Montana was, however, reportedly released on March 11, 2017, Saturday, on a $2,500 bond.
What is Montana Fishburne up to currently?
While being embroiled in controversies due to her past as an adult movie star and following with her being arrested for driving under the influence was one thing, Montana Fishburne has come a long way since then. For one, she seems to have found the perfect hobby and profession in things that not only help her physically but must have made even her father proud of her as well.
Per her Instagram handle @montanafishburne, Montana currently serves as a Yogini – aka a female practitioner of yoga and tantra and basically a female spiritual teacher – and works as a CPT, aka a Certified Personal Trainer. Her social media handle is filled with posts of her promoting the same as she expressed how necessary she has found the same for her emotional health.
