Moments in Fortnite Are a Game-Changer, But a Few Tweaks Could Make Them Even More Epic

Fortnite recently got the Chapter 6: Season 2 update and one of the biggest features introduced was Moments. This new feature allows players to customize their intro and victory music and is a really nice way to bring more personality to each match, much like the game’s emotes and skins.

While the feature has been well received, we have a lot of suggestions. The community has a lot of thoughts on how it could be improved, such as the ability to choose specific parts of a song and adjusting audio settings. Let’s take a look at what the community thinks would take this feature to the next level.

Fortnite‘s new feature is a blast, but it could be better

One of the biggest complaints about Moments is that players can’t choose the exact part of a song they want to hear. Right now, Fortnite picks a pre-set section of the track, which doesn’t always match what we might want for that exact moment. And the community has spoken.

Reddit user u/VincentWeir suggested that letting us select the starting point would make the feature better. u/DraftPinn shares a similar thought wishing they could jump straight into their favorite part of a song instead of being stuck with an intro that doesn’t fit the moment.

Right now, Moments plays a pre-selected segment of a track only, and this kinda defeats the purpose of it in the first place. u/Crimsonclaw111’s idea of getting a Jam Track to have it blast “SIT DOWN, BE HUMBLE” after every win is a very cool one. And it’s exactly the kind of thing we want features like this for.

Moments is a great feature, but it would be even better if they allowed us to choose the point the music starts at.

And then there’s the fact that the feature is currently limited to the main Battle Royale modes. Can we please have them in Fortnite’s various pre-game and post-game segments, including Ballistic? Whether it’s in Creative Mode, Team Rumble, or anything else, having Moments work universally would make the feature feel more integrated into the entire game.

Fortnite just keeps getting better

Beyond just improving the mechanics of Moments, Epic Games could also improve the feature by adding more songs to the available music library. While the current selection includes both original Fortnite themes and licensed tracks, we hope to see more variety, including deeper cuts from past Battle Passes, collaborations with famous artists, and the ability to upload custom tracks.

Moments is just the latest step in Fortnite’s continued integration of music into gameplay. Epic has consistently added integrated music and gameplay more and more over the years. We’ve seen everything from live concerts featuring real world artists like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande to iconic dance emotes. Hopefully we’ll see leaks of improvements to it soon.

The Moments feature is a great step toward player customization, but it still needs refinements to become truly iconic. Adding song segment selection, making the music audible to others, introducing more personalization settings, and expanding the song list would make this one of the best features we’ve ever seen in Fortnite.
