A mobile money vendor was brutally murdered on his way home from work at Manso-Asaman in the Ashanti Region
The victim, Augustine Mensah, was ambushed by unknown assailants, stabbed, and later shot to death.
The attack occurred shortly after Mensah received a late-night call from a supposed customer requesting a transaction. Moments later, he was found fatally wounded near the Danyame River.
Some residents believe he may have struggled with his attackers before his tragic demise, while others suspect he was deliberately targeted.
Mensah, 33, lived in Manso Yawkrom with his wife, Sakina Iddrisu, and their two-year-old son. Devastated by the loss, Sakina expressed disbelief, insisting her husband had no known conflicts.
“He is the only one who knows what led to this. No one can tell except him and God,” she said.
She was at home when she received the distressing call that led her to the crime scene, only to later find his lifeless body at St. Martin’s Hospital in Agroyesum.
The police have launched an investigation into the killing, as the community grapples with shock and sorrow over the loss of a well-respected member.
