Emmanuel Nkansah Ansong widely known as Lekzy DeComic, a skit-maker, has shared his opinion about the phenomenon of cross-dressing among some comedians.
“Crossdressing didn’t start today and if you observed even during the concert party days the likes of ice water and other stand-up comedians were dressing like women,” he answered in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
According to the Ghanaian stand-up comedian, Radio/TV Personality and MC, crossdressing is an attention-seeking strategy to get people talking.
“So it didn’t start recently and the truth is with comedy when a woman decides to play a male role or character and the guys are watching it’s funny differently.
“When a male also does a female character it’s funny to some people and we saw people cross-dressing at our hall week celebration during our University days,” he added as cited by MyNewsGh.com
He justified “We have a lot of skit makers who wear male dresses but we ignore them and talk about those who are wearing female dresses and so those who want attention will also do the same”.
