MCU is Next After Star Wars- Kevin Feige Leaving MCU After Avengers: Secret Wars Rumor Explained

Is Kevin Feige’s run with the Marvel Studios coming to an end? The rumor mill sure thinks so.

Kevin Feige has been with Marvel Studios since 2007 and clearly, the man has seen all the ups and downs that come with running a superhero universe. Currently, the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t been looking so good, especially if you compare it to the days of the OG Avengers. With a few good moments here and there, MCU is largely facing scrutiny from fans who are convinced it’s going through a downfall.

Amidst all this, rumors are floating around, claiming that Kevin Feige is going to bid his farewell to the company after the release of Avengers: Secret Wars which will be coming out in 2027.

After reports stated that Kathleen Kennedy will soon be stepping down from her role as Lucasfilm President found their way to the Internet, it looks like Kevin Feige may be next in line.

Insider MyTimeToShineHello was one of the first to make claims about Kennedy’s retirement and now, their latest prediction seems to target Feige. Taking to X, the insider stated, “Kevin Feige is next,” and people had mixed reactions to the report.

While one said that it was “time for fresh blood,” another wrote, “there’s no MCU without him.”

To top it all off, Den of Nerds’ Josh Lucas claimed that he has heard whispers about Feige’s eventual exit after Secret Wars. And while he himself doesn’t believe them, he already has a replacement in mind.

No matter where Marvel Studios stands at the moment, Feige’s absence will surely be missed if he decides to step down from his role as President. While fresh blood may or may not take the MCU to new levels, Feige has been a part of the family for decades now. It’ll sure as hell be an emotional farewell.

Did Rob Liefeld’s wish just come true?

Co-creator of Deadpool’s character, Rob Liefeld has had beef with Feige for a while now. During an episode of the Robservations with Rob Liefeld podcast, the comic book creator expressed his frustrations with Feige and how he felt left out at the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine.

As far as Liefeld is concerned, all of this was intentional as he had been included in the film events of the previous Deadpool films. According to his claims, the press photos where he posed with the creative team of Deadpool & Wolverine were mysteriously deleted.

On the podcast, Liefeld stated that all of this was done to demean and embarrass him and accused Feige of not treating comic book creators as well as he should.

It was meant to embarrass, diminish, defeat me. Kevin Feige does not treat comic book creators well. That is my personal experience.

His disdain for Feige didn’t stop there. After a poor box office performance by Captain America: Brave New World, Liefeld tweeted,

If Feige does end up giving in his resignation letter to Marvel Studios, Liefeld will probably be with the side that will be cheering.

Whether Feige stays or not, one thing is for sure – his impact has been undeniable. From assembling Earth’s mightiest heroes to dealing with multiversal chaos, he’s been the mastermind behind it all. If the rumors are true, Marvel Studios is in for a major shake-up.

Avengers: Secret Wars will be released in theatres on May 07, 2027.
