Magalia, Calif. — Residents of Butte County should be aware of potential smoke in the air today as a controlled pile-burning operation is underway in Magalia.
The burn is being conducted near Humbug Road and the Upper Centerville Canal, and is expected to produce visible smoke in several surrounding areas, including Magalia, Paradise, Butte Creek Canyon, and Forest Ranch.
According to the Butte County Fire Safe Council, ignitions for this operation began this morning and are set to continue through tomorrow. Residents are advised to take precautions and remain informed about air quality conditions.
