Love Island’s Molly Smith and Tom Clare hit back and defend Casey over ‘clout chasing’ rumours

LOVE Island star Molly Smith and Tom Clare have defended their best pal Casey O’Gorman over “clout chasing” claims.

Casey, 28, and Gabby Allen were crowned All Stars winner 2025 after winning over the hearts of the nation, just like Tom and Molly did when they appeared on the spin-off series last year.

But fans have claimed Casey was “playing a game” and using the show for his career rather than finding love.

However, Casey’s closest friend Tom, 25, has admitted that this is far from the case and said Casey has finally met his match with Gabby after waiting years for the perfect girl.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun at the Gtech AirRAM 3 Launch event, Molly said: “I think you know him, don’t you, very well, and you know that he’s always wanted a girlfriend – whenever he’s been around us, he’s always been saying how he wants to have a girlfriend.

“So if you’ve been given that opportunity to go on again, and it’s a dating show at the end of the day, it’s an opportunity to meet someone, you’d be a bit silly to turn it down in my eyes, so I can’t blame him.”

“He’s smashing it, yeah, and Gabby’s beautiful.”

Molly admitted she has hit it off instantly with Gabby and they have already formed a close friendship.

The stunning blonde told us: “Yeah, I think we don’t have much choice, with Casey and Tom’s friendship.

“The other night we were just dancing, we had a good chat with her as well at the weekend – Tom and Casey were trying to intervene.”

Tom opened up about how Casey will be when it comes to navigating a serious relationship after years of living the bachelor life.

“Well, when we lived together, I was definitely the more clean one,” he joked.

“But, no, I think he’s got that serious side and he’s got the unserious side.

“I think a lot of people have seen that unserious side.

“Yeah, I’ve seen both sides, and I think on this recent Love Island we’ve seen that serious side to him as well, during chats with Gabby.

“I think he’s a top guy and I think he’s got such a good heart and I think Gab, she brings out such a good side for sure.”

Tom and Molly attended the Gtech AirRAM 3 Launch event at the Soho Hotel on Tuesday, announcing them as their Brand Ambassadors.

Gtech was founded in 2001 by Nick Grey, with its range spanning across vacuums, haircare, power drills and gardening products.

It comes after former Islander Liam Reardon claimed that many of his fellow Love Island personalities don’t go on the show to find love.

Instead they return to the smash-hit ITV2 dating competition for the ‘clout’ of being on television.

He remarked: “What annoyed me in the game the other day, they were like ‘whose here for clout?’.

“When some of the guests saying ‘are you here for clout?’ they were all getting their backs up.

“Every single person is there for clout. Why would you want to go on TV otherwise?

He continued: “[They say] ‘I need to find someone,’ p*** off! You’ll find someone else.

Meanwhile, Millie Court, 28, interrupted her partner as she noted: “Yeah, you were looking for clout the first time you went on it when you were a nobody, we all were.

“Like we know we’re going on one of the biggest shows on telly.”

Casey, 28, won the most recent edition of All Stars alongside former series three star Gabby Allen, 33.

Liam then pointed out that Casey could have found love in other ways outside of television.

He hinted that he could have courted another girl away from the cameras ‘in the pub’.

The TV star continued: “Casey, you know, I like you, I think you’re wicked.

“But you’ve been on Love Island three times, you’ve been on Made in Chelsea. If you’re saying you’re not in it for clout, come on.

“Everyone else is, you’re going back on here for clout.”
