Obviously the very best is 4K UHD – but remember you’ll need to have the Ultra HD enabled box for the very best quality.

There are five different picture quality levels you can get on Sky Q.

And for anyone who isn’t clued up on TV resolution details, the higher the figure, the better the quality.

  • 576p
  • 720p
  • 1080i
  • 1080p
  • 2160p

1080 and 2160 are the ones you really want, which are Full HD and Ultra HD respectively.

1080i is Full HD but “might appear to flicker or blur during action scenes or live sport” Sky warns.

Meanwhile, 1080p gets Full HD without any setbacks.

Obviously, your TV needs to support the quality you select – if you choose one that’s not supported it will automatically revert back to the original setting after 10 seconds.

You can change the picture quality on Sky Q by following the steps below.

  1. Press Home on your remote
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Setup
  4. Select Audio visual
  5. Go to Picture resolution
  6. Choose your desired resolution

You can also boost the audio from Sky Q too thanks to Dolby Atmos.

This provides greater clarity to the sound that’s more immersive.

But you’ll need a Dolby Atmos system on your TV for it to work.

Sky only offers it on selected content too, such as Ultra HD broadcasts of English Premier League matches and some Ultra HD Sky Cinema downloads.

To switch it on, follow these steps:

  1. Press Home on your remote
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Setup
  4. Select Audio visual
  5. Go to Digital audio output HDMI
  6. Choose Dolby Digital Plus
