In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, at the premiere of her highly-anticipated Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again, Woll expressed her excitement about continuing the journey of her beloved character, much to the delight of fans. She admitted that at first, she was skeptical about her returning, “I was definitely in the cynical camp.” Speaking about the series’ future, Woll said,
The scripts are amazing. I am deeply honored to be a part of the storyline that Dario has written. I’m impressed and thrilled.
Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson weren’t originally supposed to be part of Born Again‘s first season alongside Charlie Cox. However, after Marvel Studios decided to make major creative changes, the series was brought back as a direct continuation of the Netflix show.
Showrunner Dario Scardapane even fought hard to bring Karen and Foggy back to the show, emphasizing the importance of their characters. Speaking to Empire Magazine, Scardapane said,
You can’t do this show without Karen and Foggy. They’re Matt’s family. They’re the heart of his world. You can’t take them out without explaining why, and if that explanation doesn’t ring true, don’t take them out.
The showrunner revealed that he was determined to keep the characters in the show, even at the risk of losing his job. Woll also emphasized the need to deliver an even better experience this time around.

While fans were concerned about the director of Karen Page’s story, especially after the events of Daredevil‘s third season, Woll confirmed that she will be returning for Daredevil: Born Again season 2. The actor confirmed this during the interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere. Woll expressed her excitement for season 2 saying, “We’re in a prep phase,” she continued.
It isn’t anything until it’s flesh, and I’m really excited to dive in.
When asked about Karen’s fate in the comics, the actress reassured fans that they need not worry.
“I think I’m within my rights to say we are in no way near that storyline,” she explained, referencing the unfortunate turn Karen’s character took in the comics,
“We dealt with a lot of that storyline in the third season of the show, and now we can continue her story that wasn’t there originally.”
Woll’s enthusiasm for what’s ahead in Daredevil: Born Again is visible. Fans can look forward to her character’s continued development in the upcoming seasons.
