President of Policy Think Tank, IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, is of the view that Kweku Ricketts-Hagan should have chaired the Appointments Committee from the start.
He hails the Cape Coast South Member of Parliament’s control of the affairs of the committee as his strength.
What’s even more fascinating, according to Franklin Cudjoe, is the fact that the Deputy Majority Leader knows who to point to to ask questions in critical moments.
Franklin Cudjoe made this position known in a post shared via social media.
He said “Hon. Kweku George Ricketts-Hagan should have been Chairman of the Appointments Committee from day 1! He understands the issues, participates in clarifying questions especially from Afenyo-Markin, and responses from nominees. He knows who to point to at critical moments to ask questions. Now people can now appreciate Afenyo-Markin‘s role even better!”.
The Appointments Committee since the start of vetting has been chaired by Bernard Ahiafor, who is the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament in the 9th Parliament.
