As per a Deadline report, Vergara and her cast-mates earned around $500,000 per episode for Modern Family from Season 9 to 11. That combined with her commercial deals, jeans, perfume, furniture, cosmetic line, and $10 million (Forbes) America’s Got Talent salary, which she joined that year as a judge, earned her $43 million in a single year.
What made her achievement even more special, though, was the fact that Hollywood was almost in full lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the industry, as well as many established actors, suffered the worst financial impact that year.

As per the outlet, the actress was paid $20 million upfront for the movie, while the rest she earned from her 15% cut from the global box office revenue. Interestingly, the film not only earned the Bird Box star her highest salary yet but also received massive critical acclaim from the critics.
The Alfonso Cuarón movie dealt with the survival trope on an extraterrestrial level with Bullock’s engineer Ryan Stone and George Clooney’s astronaut Matt Kowalski forced to brave space after their space shuttle was hit by debris. Gravity earned seven Oscar awards, with Cuarón winning in the Best Director category.
While the Speed star was also nominated in the best category, she lost it to Cate Blanchett. Regardless, she still made her mark as the highest-paid actress in Hollywood from a single movie, and if anything that record does not seem like it will be broken soon.
Now, although Sofia Vergara has gotten herself various lucrative deals in the past few years, Sandra Bullock‘s salary still seems far-reaching for her.
