Nana B issues demand notice over NSS allegations

Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has instructed his lawyers to demand a retraction and an apology from the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) over allegations made in an investigative report aired on TV3.

According to a letter from his legal representatives, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah & Partners, the report—titled “NSS Scandal, the Inside Story”—claimed that Nana B served as Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) from 2017 to 2020.

The report allegedly linked him to fraudulent activities during that period, which his lawyers have refuted.

“Our client has instructed us to inform you that he was only in office between January 2017 and September 2018, after which he resigned to serve as the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” the letter stated.

The lawyers further argued that publishing his image alongside the alleged misconduct was defamatory.

Nana B has since taken to social media to reinforce his stance.

“Consistent with my position that the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) through Fourth Estate has no reasonable basis to smear my image, my lawyers have written a demand notice to MFWA (Fourth Estate) to retract and apologise for unjustifiably tainting my reputation,” he wrote.

He warned that legal action would follow if MFWA failed to comply.

“Should MFWA (Fourth Estate) fail to do the needful, my lawyers have my full instructions to commence legal proceedings against them,” he added.

It remains to be seen whether the MFWA will respond to Nana B’s demands or stand by its report.
