In case you missed it, Colin Farrell won the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a television movie or limited series, for his role in The Penguin at the 2025 SAG Awards. And during his speech, he didn’t care about the time limit, and made sure to thank his family.
During his speech, he shouted out his sister Catherine, his sister Claudine, his brother Eamon, his mom Rita, his dad Eamon, and of course, his two sons. “… the two people in my life who have made my life so much more special and so much more meaningful, so much more joyful than I ever truly thought possible: my son James and son Henry,” he said. Isn’t that so touching?
The other nominees included Javier Bardem in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Richard Gadd in Baby Reindeer, Kevin Kline in Disclaimer, and Andrew Scott in Ripley.
For those who don’t know, Farrell has two sons. He welcomed his first son, James Padraig Farrell, born in Sept 2003, with Kim Bordenave. Then, he welcomed a son named Henry Tadeusz Farrell, born on Oct 2009 with his ex, Polish actress Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.
In a previous interview with People, Farrell talked about how he may not feel pride with many things, but he definitely does with his kids. “I don’t know if I feel pride to be honest with you, which is not to say I’m not a prideful person. I do feel pride in my life,” he said. “I feel very proud of my kids and who they are as men and watching them navigate the world.”
